Connie admitted to Heartland for skilled nursing and intensive therapy following a cerebral aneurysm.

When I first came to Heartland of Mentor, I was scared and didn’t know what to expect. I felt so weak, because I couldn’t walk, I couldn't talk and I needed help with everything. All I wanted was to regain my strength so I could go home.

The nursing staff at Heartland is really great! I have built a very nice rapport with my nurses, Kathy, Michelle and Amber. They are very aware of the medications I receive. They also listen to me and communicate anything regarding my care with myself and my family. My nursing assistants Solomon and Aaron, are so kind and compassionate. They always go above and beyond to take care of my roommate and myself.

I cannot say enough about the therapy department at Heartland of Mentor. The therapists are very encouraging and knowledgeable. They are helping me to improve my overall physical health and well being. I feel so much stronger now. I can write, and I can occasionally walk with a walker. I was more than pleased with the rehabilitation therapist/ caregivers who aided me in gaining my independence. All were very professional, compassionate and very friendly. They made me feel as though I was very important to them.

Chris assessed my situation and had a great plan. Jan was the great encourager who had such a positive attitude toward my progress. He made me a believer in my own capability. Mike was very capable and had great technique. Melissa and Elizabeth were caring and attentive. Last, but not least, is Debbie who is an angel in disguise. She is so good in her care, so gentle, and made sure I was comfortable at all times.

All of these people became friends, and I was sorry to leave, but delighted in all they did for me. They gave me great confidence when I didn't always have confidence in myself. My rehabilitation went quickly because of them. Thanks all of you from the bottom of my heart.
